Recommendation Form

Pre-Requisites:
1. Complete a UofZ Bachelor Degree
2. Submit UofZ Advanced Degree application

Degree Requirements:

  1. Attend and complete requirements for Ari’s Leadership Workshop
  2. Attend one Partners Group meeting
  3. Attend a ZCoB Committee meeting (i.e. Training Engineers, Benefits, Safety)
  4. Attend one Seasonal Huddle
  5. Attend a Huddle in a different business
  6. Turn in to the Training Engineers and your Managing Partner:
    • Write-up/recap of learnings gained from attending the above listed workshop, meetings and huddles
    • At least 3 documented action items you will take from these learnings that will help you complete your chosen track for this degree
  7. Complete 8 hours of volunteer work that supports a non-profit group with a 501c3 designation (contact the Training Engineers with questions about qualifying volunteer work)
  8. Complete 1 of the 5 tracks listed below
  9. If degree is not completed in 24 months, the Training Engineers will encourage you to re-apply

Tracks
FOOD

  • Attend ZingTrain’s Cheese Mastery or Merchandizing Seminar
  • Project: Conduct research on a new food product or product line for home department, business or the ZCoB
  • Present project overview and results at a Zing 100 Learning Summit or Partners Group meeting
  • Attend a food and/or cooking course at an outside institution that meets approval of Managing Partner
  • Teach two, 1-hour (or longer) classes on food or cooking techniques

SERVICE

  • Attend ZingTrain’s Art of Giving Great Service seminar
  • Project: Develop and document an internal system change to improve service in home department, business or the ZCoB
  • Present project overview and results at a Zing 100 Learning Summit or Partners Group meeting
  • Attend 5 Service classes (AGGS, AGGS in Writing, AGGS Over the Phone, Why ZXI?, Greens to Evergreens)
  • Get certified to teach at least one additional ZCoB-wide Service class, and teaches at least 2 times during the year
  • Attend a Great Service Group huddle
  • Develop a mini-game for a business or department based on one of the Great Service Group’s ZAP goals

FINANCE

  • Attend ZingTrain’s Fun, Flavorful Finance seminar
  • Project: Develop and implement a financial study that improves the financial bottom line in home dept., business or the ZCoB
  • Present project overview and results at a Zing 100 Learning Summit or Partners Group meeting
  • Attend 5 Finance classes (DOR 101, Huddling 2.0, Finance 101, Costing & Pricing, MOR Money)
  • Get certified to teach at least one additional ZCoB-wide Finance class, and teaches at least 2 times during the year
  • Actively participate in writing and reviewing the financial aspects of your business’ Annual Plan

MANAGEMENT

  • Attend ZingTrain’s Leading with Zing seminar or Working with Zing seminar
  • Project: Complete a Bottom Line Change project that improves one of more Bottom Lines and gains Partner approval
  • Present project overview and results at a Zing 100 Learning Summit or Partners Group meeting
  • Complete Management Development Curriculum (tbd)

SAFETY & SANITATION

  • Attend ZingTrain’s ServSafe Food Safety seminar
  • Project: Develop and document at least one significant improvement that addresses areas of concern on a health inspection in home department, business or the ZCoB
  • Present project overview and results at a Zing 100 Learning Summit or Partners Group meeting
  • Teach at least 4 sessions of Basic Food Safety class
  • Attend a Safety Committee meeting
  • Lead a safety inspection at your business or another business in the ZCoB
